Q + A

Tell us a little about yourself, where are you from and how did you get into fly fishing and the outdoors?

My wife and I live in a small town of Bishop, California, in the heart of the Eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains. I began fly fishing at a early age of 10 years old and have been following this passion since!

What is it about Bishop, CA that makes it such a good place to live?

Why Bishop. It’s a small-town, I like smaller towns. 95% of the land in our area is public/federally managed land so this town will always remain small and the same (hopefully). But the main reason I’ve put roots down in Bishop is the giant backyard we have. The Eastern Sierra Mountains are my playground and I spend most of my time in the high-country backpacking, fishing, hunting, and shooting photography. I don’t have to go far for the many recreational actives we love here.

What made you decide to pursue a career in the outdoors, why is it essential to who you are?

The outdoors is the main connection of taping into the passions I thrive at, and where I want to spend my time. I run a marina up in the mountains and mostly work on the water, or near it, at an elevation of 9,000+ feet. My off days, I go chase fish or game, in the same mountains. I gave up an office career in the city 13 years ago and have never looked back. The outdoors bring me peace and fulfillment.
