WADE SHOEMAKER

Wade Shoemaker is a North Louisiana native, husband, and father of two boys who has built his life around waterfowl hunting. Although he did not go on his first real duck hunt until he was 19, that experience changed the trajectory of his life and set him on a path that naturally evolved from hunter to photographer to full time career in the outdoors. Rooted in faith, family, and tradition, Wade is driven by the challenge of figuring birds out each season and by a deep commitment to preserving the experience for his boys and the next generation of hunters.

Q + A

What is it about waterfowl hunting that keeps you coming back with the same passion each season?

There's several things. At the top would have to be the constant of trying to figure birds out, the camaraderie with everyone, and then lastly, but probably the most important for me these days would be making sure that if my kids love it then I do all I can to ensure that they can continue doing it.

What is it about Pecos that makes you excited to work with our product?

Out of everything I've done in this space the most consistent thing about all of it is that good things outlast the other things and good brands are more times than not run by good people. Both of those things mentioned are true here.

Which product do you like the most and how does it help you with your job?

The table. Big fan of the paloma but the table is the foundation for nearly everything. You can prep food, clean ducks, and make drinks all on one surface. Can even use it to stand on to line up monkey bars on a ninja playground. Works like a charm but would recommend cleaning it after each application.

What is a dream trip for you or a goal in your career that you’d like to accomplish?

I've got several that i'd say are on my bucket list, but there's really only one that stays on my heart each year. I'd love for my dad, my papaw, and my two boys to make a trip somewhere to hunt flooded timber together and have an absolute BURNER of a gentlemen's hunt just one of the days. My papaw and my dad have never experienced that and I truly believe that every duck hunter should have that experience. If I could do that with them AND my two boys I'm certain it would outweigh any "bucket list" trip or accomplishment I could dream up.
